ON CAMPUS RECRUITING

Our recruiters are impressed by our students’ qualifications and experience, specifically their leadership, teamwork and communications skills.  We offer you the opportunity to interview these qualified students on campus. 

  • Fall 2011 recruiting begins on September 26.
  • Spring 2012 dates are February 4th through April 15th..

Interviews are 30 or 45 minutes in length which allows you to interview up to 12 students per day.  The day begins at 9:00AM and ends at 4:45PM with a morning and afternoon break.  Lunch is scheduled with a Career Center staff person and faculty representative when possible.

All interviews are conducted at the Career Center located at 2563 South Belvoir.  Driveway parking is provided for your convenience.  For a map to and of campus, please go to:  www.jcu.edu/about/map.htm

To secure your date of choice, please access your Career Connection account and reserve under “on campus interview schedule.”  If rooms are not available on that day, we will contact you to make other arrangements.  For assistance with planning your on campus visit, please contact Barb Koeth, Assistant Director of Employer Relations, at:  bkoeth@jcu.edu

Recruiting Policies:

John Carroll University requests that you abide by the following policies:

Offers:

  • Winter 2011 offer date for Accounting students is October 19th.
  • Offers for full-time employment can be made at any time however we ask that you allow a minimum of 2 weeks for students to make a thoughtful decision.

Commission Only:

  • Employers paying straight commission may not interview on campus.
  • Commission only employers may post positions on Career Connection and attend Career Fairs however they must clearly indicate their commission only status.

Third Party Recruiters:

  • Third Party Recruiters may not participate in on campus interviews.
  • Third Party Recruiters may post positions on Career Connection, however they will not receive access to the student resume database.  When posting on Career Connection, “Third Party” needs to be indicated after the Employer name.

Qualifications:

  • As a member of the National Association of Colleges and Employers, the John Carroll University Center for Career Services adheres to the NACE Ethical Standards and expects our employers and faculty members to do the same in our pursuit to best serve JCU students and alumni.   • All employers must adhere to EEOC guidelines.
  • Employers must fully disclose to students/alums compensation packages and costs incurred throughout their first year of service.  This includes salary, duration of salary, training allowance, incentive programs, stock options, commission structure, benefits and any other cost borne by the employee including testing, licenses, classes, travel and equipment.
Final approval to use the Career Center and other facilities at John Carroll University rests with the Director and may be revoked if policy is violated.  The permission to use JCU facilities does not imply University approval or endorsement of the policies, practices, or products/services of the recruiting organization/individual.
