| CARROLL-CLEVELAND PHILOSOPHERS' PROGRAM |
| Components of the Program The program comprises an interaction of three main components:
Our goals have been to incite academic and personal development while encouraging “giftedness." To illustrate the combination of these components, a partnership with the JCU Philosophy Department, was expanded in 2003/4 to include a weekly and sometimes bi-weekly philosophy discussion and writing class taught by JCU philosophy professors. This school year culminated with the publication of a printed “PhilosopherZ Magazine” which included position papers written by CCPP students on ethical issues related to their “enrichment” interests as well as photos on topics such as animal rights and the best use of tax dollars. The students presented their work to children at other urban schools as part of an academic service experience.
