| CARROLL-CLEVELAND PHILOSOPHERS' PROGRAM |
|
Focus on Enrichment We utilize “artistic methods” to teach non-art classes - create art, poetry, essays, and journal reflection to express feelings and internalize the notion of service. Augmented with this are additional art modalities - drama, music, dance. The students are provided with conceptually abstract assignments, such as “PhilosopherZ Magazine” (see below), and the time and materials to develop complex, creative ideas. Students in the CCPP reflect on their experience through journal writing, and inclusions in the programs video production. Cultural empowerment is emphasized with culture-reinforcing curriculum - reinforcing the student’s own ethnic and cultural heritage through a cultural literacy program in cooperation with Young Audiences of Greater Cleveland.
