ACS shirt designs

These are the ideas for the new ACS shirt as of Fall 2007. We're hoping to get these in befopre National Chemistry Week and Mole Day, so that we can wear them throughout the week. In order for this to happen, we will be deciding on a design at the Oct. 3 meeting!!! Take a look and pick your favorite to vote for at the meeting.

Option 1: Front: JCU Chemistry Geek Week 2007 Back: We do things in lab that would be a felony in your garage!

Option 2: Winner! The shirts will be navy blue with white lettering, short sleeved. You know you’re a JCU chemistry student when: 10.) You understand that teamwork in lab classes is essential because it allows you to blame someone else. 9.) You can draw some of the compounds listed on your shampoo bottle. 8.) Your best pickup line is, "I can't spell nucleophile without U!" 7.) You enjoy the tingling from acetone evaporating from your hands. 6.) You've started referring to fat people as “sterically hindered.” 5.) Your life expectancy is 25 years. 4.) Your friends don't look at you funny when you refer to a stop-cock. 3.) You think fresh air smells funny. 2.) It's the day after classes have ended, and you're still working on your unknown. 1.) We don’t need sleep anyway.

Option 3: Top Ten Reasons to be a Chemistry Major: 10.) Liquid nitrogen is cool. 9.) Permanent goggle marks are cheaper than a tattoo. 8.) Access to 100% pure ethanol. 7.) You can blame everything on entropy. 6.) Showers in the lab. 5.) If you can't handle the delta(H), switch to liberal arts. 4.) Legal distillation. 3.) Old chemists never die; they just reach equilibrium. 2.) We don’t need sleep anyway. 1.) Explosions, fires, broken glassware, acid holes, and burns... Need we say more?
