Mr. Robert Noll

Robert Thomas Noll has won over 34 national and international awards including a Silver Medal at the International Film and Television Festival of New York, a Golden Eagle Award from CINE (Council of International Non-Theatrical Events), a National Education Association National Award, a Telly Award and nine Emmy Awards.

His 25 produced plays have been performed thousands of times in 12 countries (including six New York productions). Six have been published. Three of his plays have aired on radio and one was taped and televised by NBC. In TV, he has produced and written hundreds of programs including the nationally syndicated NBC dramatic children’s series, “Hickory Hideout.” Four of his screenplays have been produced as films. A fifth is presently in pre-production and should be in movie theaters across the world by August 2008.



Noll teaches in the Tim Russert Department of Communication and Theatre Arts at John Carroll University, where he also serves as adviser to their award-winning newspaper, The Carroll News. He spent nearly 20 years teaching playwriting at the Cleveland Play House. He has also been the Screenwriting Instructor for the Cleveland Filmmakers and Artist-in-Residence at the Cleveland School of the Arts. He has also lectured and taught at over a dozen other colleges and universities.

He has been an Adjunct Professor at Ursuline College, Cleveland State University, and Cuyahoga Community College. He has also been the Screenwriting Instructor for the Cleveland Filmmakers and Artist-in-Residence at the Cleveland School of the Arts.

He has been a Public Relations and Marketing Consultant for 25 Broadway shows. He has worked professionally at the Cleveland Play House, Hanna Theater, Kenley Players, Cleveland Ballet, Playhouse Square Center, Great Lakes Theater Festival, and Musicarnival. He has written and edited publications for the Education Department of Playhouse Square Center.

He also coordinates the annual Urban Journalism program with the Cleveland Chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists. He is a member of the Society of Professional Journalists, College Media Advisers, and the Dramatist Guild.
