Dr. Sarah VanSlette teaches classes in public relations, research methods, and public speaking. She also is the faculty advisor for the John Carroll chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America, which provides communication and marketing students with hands-on PR experience, networking, internship opportunities, and scholarships. She'd be happy to hear from you if you have an interest in joining PRSSA.

She received her B.A. (Phi Beta Kappa) from Saint Louis University, and was a Monroe Scholar and Andrews Fellow at Purdue University, where she received her M.A. and her PhD in Public Relations.

Her dissertation was on the public relations of "outlaw" organizations who used outlaw discourse, with a focus on the European low fare airline, Ryanair. Her current research interests are international PR, the public discourse about terrorism, and rhetorical approaches to PR.
