Awards

Below are a list of awards, as well as the criteron students must meet to qualify. Awards marked with a '$' are monetary while awards marked with a '*' must have a student nominated by an instructor for consideration.

  • ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AWARD
    Awarded to the graduating senior with the highest overall Grade point average
  • GENERAL ELECTRIC PUBLIC RELATIONS AWARD$*
    Awarded in the junior year to the student who excels in the field of public relations (PRSSA membership required).
  • JAMES BRESLIN AWARD FOR TV PRODUCTION$*
    Awarded for the senior year on the basis of actual television productions submitted.
  • JOAN LOUISE CUNNIFF AWARD FOR INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATIONS$*
    Awarded to the graduating senior who excels in academics and interpersonal skills.
  • ALPHA PSI OMEGA AWARD*
    Awarded to the graduating senior who contributes significantly to JCU Theatre.
  • KATHRYN E. DOLAN COMMUNICATION AWARD$*
    Awarded for the senior year to the student who demonstrates the most support to the operation of the department.
  • OUTSTANDING SENIOR AWARD*
    Awarded to the graduating senior most heavily involved in at least two areas of the major.
  • JOHN J. REARDON AWARD$*
    Awarded to the junior who contributes significantly to JCU Theatre.
  • THE NATIONAL COMMUNICATION HONOR SOCIETY, Lambda Pi Eta, JCU Chapter Eta-Eta
    • In order to receive this honor, you must:
    • Have 60 semester hours completed with at least 12 of those in Communications,
    • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and a GPA of 3.25 in Communications,
    • Be in the upper 35% of your graduating class,
    • Be currently enrolled as a full-time student and in good standing.
