Department of Communications and Theater Arts
Graduate School Information
About one-third of our CO Majors go on to graduate school, but many of them work for a couple of years before continuing their education. If you would like information, at any time, about graduate programs, check the bulletin boards around the Department of Communications, or ask the department secretary to see the graduate guide which is kept in her office. Here you will usually find posters and program descriptions from schools specializing in the area of communications.
Of course, you should also stop by the Graduate School office in the Administration Building to find catalogs, directories of programs offered by other schools, and some rating guides. Do not forget to talk with your advisor or other CO faculty as they may have first-hand knowledge about a particular program.
The Department of Communications at John Carroll aso offers a Master's degree in Communications Management. We are the only school in northern Ohio to offer this degree, and in fact, seem to be the only school in the upper mid-west to offer it. If you are interested in this program please visit the Communications Management page by clicking here.
This degree is interdisciplinary. Courses and faculty contribute from both the Communications Department and John Carroll's Boler School of Business. For a full description of this highly successful program see The Graduate Bulletin or visit the John Carroll's Graduate School by clicking here.
