DUTIES OF CAMPUS SAFETY SERVICES (CSS)

The following is a listing of the duties and responsibilities of the personnel of Campus Safety Services:

• Provide a safe campus environment

• Protect lives and safeguard buildings

• Detect and report criminal activity or safety hazards

  • Complaints

  • Offense reports

  • Unusual incidents or suspicious individuals

  • Accidents

• Enforce parking and traffic regulations on campus
• Enforce state/local ordinances and university regulations within the university's jurisdiction
• Coordinate police, fire, and emergency medical/first aid
  • Transportation to local hospitals
• Provide a 24 hour-a-day, year round on-campus escort service
• Maintain a university shuttle service
• Responsible for the university lost and found
• Maintain good working relationships with university community and other police departments
