The Kresge Challenge
|
Last
year The Kresge Foundation awarded John Carroll a $950,000 challenge
grant for the Dolan Science Center. Not only will this enable Carroll
to complete a facility unrivaled among comprehensive colleges and
universities nationwide, the grant by itself focuses national attention
on the university -- The Kresge Foundation approves only one proposal
out of every four received.
The grant also represents an extraordinary opportunity for alumni,
alumnae and other friends of the university to join in this historic
achievement by helping to meet the Kresge challenge: to raise the
remainder of the funds to build the Dolan
Center through a broad base of donor support. Meeting the Kresge challenge is crucial to John Carroll,
right now and for the future. Not only is securing the
Kresge grant for the Dolan Center important to the success
of our capital campaign, it will give us a significant
credential to display in attracting future gifts from Kresge
and other foundations.
