ED 538 - School Guidance, Counseling and Consultation

DESCRIPTION:

Pre-requisites: ED 453 and 503C

Counseling and guidance strategies for the school counselor which promote school and personal success and development in children and teenagers. Emphasis is placed on the skills necessary to assess students' needs, design a program of comprehensive services, and coordinate, implement and evaluate the program's activities. The course also includes a thorough study of consulting models and strategies for the school counselor's articulation wtih school personnel, adminsitrators, parents, and community agencies.
