ED 225E - Seminar I: Focus on Family Ecology
DESCRIPTION:
Co-requisite: ED 225; pre-requisites: ED 100, 186, 253, and formal admission to teacher education and Early Child Licensure.
Integrates learning theory with observational assessments for examination of external and internal factors that influence family dynamics and impact child growth and development. Topics include demographic shifts in family composition; cultural and social differences in paretnal values, beliefs, and attendant practices; school and communtiy supports for family and chldren; ethical concerns and professional responsibility in famly-school relationships. Includes a field experience component.
