NATIONAL EXPOSURE
1. See JCU vs. Mt. Union at Shula Stadium Saturday (Oct 18) on
LIVE TV
John Carroll's football showdown with Division III Champion Mount Union on Saturday
(Oct 18, 1:30 pm) will be telecast nationally as the Game of the Week by College
Sports Television on DirecTV Satellite System's Channel 610 as well as by local
cable providers. For local information, log onto the CSTV
website. For more background on the game -- and the 4-1 Blue Streaks --
check out JCU
Sports Headlines.
In Chicago alums will be gathering at Finley Dunne's Tavern to cheer on the
Blue Streaks and also raise money for the Jason Schuster Scholarship Fund, established
in memory of the '98 graduate who died in an automobile accident at the age
of 23.
THE PREVIOUS 'BIG THING'
2. See Shula Stadium dedication highlights
Viewers across the country who tune in Saturday also will see what is arguably
the finest Division III facility anywhere -- the one with the most famous name
in football. Don Shula Stadium was dedicated three weeks ago and you can view
highlights of the events that weekend -- including a pep talk to the team by
"The Coach" himself -- on the JCU
website.
UPCOMING EVENTS
3. Reunion meetings (for the 4's and 9's), Mass & Breakfast

can take part in the planning no matter where you live via conference call.
To set it up contact Reunion Coordinator Rosalie
Massey. Rosalie is also the person to contact for more information on the

4. 'All, not some, ALL people are interconnected'
Ursuline Sister Dianna Ortiz was talking about the lesson she learned from the
Mayans in Guatemala, where in 1989 she was abducted and tortured by security
forces, and explaining why she continues to relive the nightmare in presentations
such as the one she gave recently at John Carroll. "I began to understand that
torture was not restricted to any one country but was a worldwide epidemic,"
she declared. You can hear her riveting testimony online on the JCU
website.
