=================================================

Among the young competitors are a contingent from Zaragoza, El SalvadorThe eyes of many people throughout the world will be on Cleveland and John Carroll University this weekend (Jul 30-Aug 2) as the International Children's Games take place in the United States for the first time in their 36-year history. Carroll is host to competition in 5 of the 10 sports and to more than half of the 2,000 participants, all 12-15 years old. Many alumnae and alumni are volunteering their services on campus or downtown at the JCU tent in Festival Village. Look for the latest report on the JCU website, as well as parking instructions for anyone planning to attend the events on campus.

3. Father Schell moves to Jesuits' Columbiere Center
=================================================

Father Joseph Schell SJOn July 21 Father Joseph Schell moved to Colombiere Center, the total health care facility for the Jesuits of the Chicago and Detroit Provinces. "Father Schell had been contemplating this move for some time and finally decided that this was the opportune time," explained Father Howard Gray, rector of the Jesuit community at Carroll. "This has not been an easy decision for him or for the Jesuit community. When the decision was made to move, Father Schell requested that it be done quietly and quickly. I know that he deeply appreciates the care and interest of the wider John Carroll community. I know, too, that a big part of his heart remains here." His address is: Colombiere Center, Box 139, 9075 Big Lake Road, Clarkston MI 48347-0139.

The most recent testament to Father Schell's enduring presence at JCU can be found on the JCU website in the fond memories of alums whose class years range from the 50's through the current decade.

4. Javier Reveron '98, on missing person's list, may have been seen in Cleveland area
=================================================

Javier Reveron '98, on missing person's list since January, is 5-7, 145 pounds, with a Superman tattoo on his right shoulderMany alums have requested information on Javier Reveron '98, who has been missing since January when he boarded a plane to New York City. Today (Jul 28) the Lorain (OH) Morning Journal reported on two witnesses who believe they saw him recently in the Greater Cleveland Area. The article is available online by clicking here.

Earlier this week Javier's mother Judy notified us of an article that appeared Sunday (Jul 25) in the Morning Journal, summarizing all that had been known up to then about his situation. To read this article online click here.

Both articles were written by Theresa Neuhoff '93, a Morning Journal Sportswriter, who pursued the story after receiving the June 25 alert that was emailed to the e-News list. As reported in the articles, anyone with information on Javier Reveron is asked to contact Lorain Police Detective Edward Bermudez at 440.204.2105.
