JCU Helps Haiti
The John Carroll University community has begun to organize ways for students, faculty, administrators and staff to contribute to Haitian reflief efforts, following the devastating earthquake and aftershocks.
Here's how you can help:
- PRAY : Join us in prayer on Tuesday, Jan. 19 at 12:15 p.m. in St. Francis Chapel. We will reflect on and pray for our brothers and sisters in Haiti.
- DONATE : Your contributions will be sent to Jesuit Refugee Services (in Haiti).
Cash donations will be accepted. Checks should be made out to “Jesuit Refugee Services.” Students groups will assist staff members with the donations process at the designated locations.
You can donate at various locations on campus:
- Campus Ministry
- Center for Service and Social Action
- Rodman Admissions / Reception Desk
- Dolan Science Center / ATRIUM
- D.J. Lombardo Student Center / ATRIUM (in front of the bookstore)
- FAST FOR ONE MEAL : In the past, our students have offered to “fast” for one meal to support relief efforts. Therefore, for those students who choose to fast, ARAMARK has agreed to donate the cost of the meal to our Haitian relief fund.
- ATTEND THE ALL-STUDENT MASS: This mass is scheduled for Sunday, January 31, 2010, 8pm, at the Gesu parish. There will be a special collection taken for Haiti.
- KEEP US INFORMED: Campus Ministry will collect names of family and friends of the JCU community who have been impacted by the earthquake. We will place the names in St. Francis chapel and remember them in prayer in the upcoming weeks and months.
