BLUE GOLD CLUB

Since its founding in the spring of 1982, the John Carroll University Blue-Gold Club has served the athlete – both past and present – through commitment to its mission: to support, promote and recognize varsity athletes.

WHO JOINS BLUE-GOLD?
Alumni, parents, friends, and boosters . . . anyone
interested in becoming a part of and contributing to the continuation of John Carroll’s successful athletic tradition.

WHAT DOES BLUE-GOLD DO?
Blue-Gold serves to raise much-needed revenue to supplement the annual operations and capital budget of
the Athletic Department. The goal is to provide the
resources necessary to allow JCU athletes to compete at championship levels. Past projects include:

The construction of the Blue-Gold Room overlooking the Tony DeCarlo Varsity Center, used for alumni gatherings, recruiting efforts and numerous otherathletic department functions.
The creation of PAC, All- American and OAC
recognition boards.
The purchase of equipment such as the fully automated and integrated Colorado timing system,
which allows JCU to host the annual OAC Swimming & Diving Championships.
The Club sponsors alumni events for JCU athletic teams, purchases T-shirts for conference championship teams, and plaques for those teams achieving the elite status of top eight
nationally in Division III.
The Club also hosts its signature event, the John Carroll University Athletic Hall of Fame Dinner. The Club strives to increase its presence and its contribution to student-athlete projects and purchases on a continual basis.

Based on your contribution level, your benefits include
free admission to all regular season JCU home athletic
events and a quarterly newsletter to help keep you
updated on JCU athletic news and events.

Your support enables JCU student-athletes access to
the facilities and equipment necessary to compete at a
consistently high level. It fosters your relationship with
the University as an active supporter of JCU athletics.

TO SUPPORT, PROMOTE AND RECOGNIZE
VARSITY ATHLETICS AT JOHN CARROLL UNIVERSITY

John Carroll is a Division III member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Ohio Athletic Conference. The OAC, the third oldest conference in college athletics, is predated only by the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association and the Big
Ten.

Other members of the OAC include Baldwin-
Wallace College, Capital University, Heidelberg
College, Marietta College, Mount Union College,
Muskingum College, Ohio Northern University,
Otterbein College, and Wilmington College.

For over 80 years, athletics have played an integral
part in the life of the University. Because of their high
visibility, athletics serve as a rallying point for students,
faculty, boosters, and friends of John Carroll University.
Athletics provide a window through which people
can discover the University and its surrounding
community.

The excitement of Blue Streaks home
contests helps attract prospective students and provides
alumni, boosters and friends with opportunities to return to campus and revisit memories.

The rich heritage of the JCU intercollegiate Athletic
Program is truly a source of pride to alumni and
friends throughout the entire country.
