City of University Heights This will allow one to learn more about the city of University Heights, the home of John Carroll University.

City of Cleveland This will allow one to learn more about the city of Cleveland, e.g. history, statistics and services.

State of Ohio This web site allows one to learn all about the beautiful State of Ohio. It offers tips on destinations, the history of Ohio and all other information about Ohio.

The Cleveland Metropolitan Parks The Metroparks is an extensive park system surrounding the city of Cleveland. The Metroparks also administers the Cleveland Zoo.

Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority They operate the public transportation, e.g. bus and light rail service, for the Greater Cleveland area. Students have convenient connections to Cleveland and Cleveland Hopkins International Airport via RTA.

Television and Radio

WKYC, The NBC Affiliate broadcasts local, national and international news

WEWS, The ABC Affiliate broadcasts local, national and international news

WOIO, The CBS Affiliate broadcasts local, national and international news

WJCU 88.7, John Carroll Univeristy's Radio Station.

WCPN 90.3, Public Radio broadcasts programming from NPR (National Public Radio) as well as PRI (Public Radio International)

WXTM 92.3, Modern Rock. 92.3 broadcasts modern and alternative rock 24 hours daily.

WQAL 104.1, Pop Music. 104.1 broadcasts top 40 and adult contemporary music.

WCLV 104.9, Classical. WCLV is Cleveland's only classical radio station. WCLV has unique programming, such as the "Symphony at 7" and "Karl Haas' Adventures in Good Music."

Local Shopping

Beachwood Place Beachwood Place offers a wide range of shopping and dining.

Legacy Village Legacy Village offers a variety of shopping and dining possibilities.

University Square offers students a great selection of stores such as Target and Macy's. Additionally, the area boasts a great organic, natural foods grocery store called Whole Foods Market.

Local Attractions

Cedar Lee Theater features a variety of films, including: in dependant films, foreign language films and a few Hollywood films.

The Cleveland Museum of Art is a world class art museum featuring an excellent collection of Asian, European and American art. The museum is closed for renovation. It is due to reopen in 2010.

The Cleveland Natural History Museum has an excellent collection of dinosaur bones, as well as a planetarium and live animal programs.

The Cleveland Orchestra is one of the world's foremost orchestras. The Cleveland Orchestra is housed at Severance Hall in the heart of the University Circle district. Student tickets are available.

The Cleveland Zoo is one of the oldest zoo's in the United States. The Cleveland Zoo has a large primate house, as well as a beautiful replica of the rain forest.

Coventry Village is located in Cleveland Heights and offers an eclectic choice of restaurants and shops.

The Great Lakes Science Center is one of America's largest interactive science museums. The museum offers many "hands-on" exhibitions as well as an entire exhibition dedicated to the Great Lake's Region. Additionally, The Great Lake's Science Center has an OMNIMAX theatre, which boasts a six story high domed theatre.

Play House Square is located in downtown Cleveland and offers 5 well appointed theaters. Play House Square hosts Broadway Shows, Musicals and a wide range of live theatre preformances.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum is located next door to the Great Lakes Science Center. The Rock Hall was designed by I.M.Pei and features unique permenant exhibitions as well as feature exhibitions. 3 Trabants from U2 Zoopora tour hang in the lobby of the Rock and Roll Museum.

The West Side Market offers a large variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, dairy and bread products for low prices. The West Sie Market has operated since 1912 at the edge of the Cleveland's trendy Ohio City neighborhood. Eclectic restaurants and shops surround the market as well.
