During this Orientation, you will have the chance to:
- Meet the Deans and other Graduate Students
- Learn about the University, The Graduate School, and Student Services
- Have your student ID made (for library, computer labs, gym, events, etc.)
- Purchase a parking permit
- Learn about JCU e-mail and Blackboard (our on-line course management system)
The parking pass requires that you bring: registration or proof of insurance, license plate number, and check or cash (no credit cards)
A restricted Parking Pass (after 4:30 P.M. only) costs $60; Unrestricted Pass costs $125
If you are unable to attend, parking permits will be sold Tuesday September 2, through Friday, September 12th from 8:30am until 7:30pm, and Friday, January 18th from 8:30am until 4:00pm in the Murphy Room of the Lombardo Student Center.
Student IDs are available in the Carroll Card office during normal school hours. The hours of 4:30pm until 6:30pm on Monday the 14th will be reserved exclusively for graduate students. For questions, please call the Carroll Card office at (216)397-4961. The office is located on the garden level of the Administration building.

[Scheduling Your Classes]
The Graduate School requires that new students discuss class scheduling first with their academic advisor. Your advisor will instruct and assist you on the initial registration process. Subsequent registrations may be done directly by you via the web or in person at the Student Services Center on the Garden level of the Administration Building. To register on the web, you will need a Banner ID and password. |
[ID Cards]
Student IDs are available in the Carroll Card office during normal school hours. The hours of 4:30pm until 6:30pm on Monday the 14th will be reserved exclusively for graduate students. To obtain an ID card, you must provide a photo ID, preferably a driver's license and be registered for classes. Your first ID is free, however, replacement cards cost $25. For questions, please call the Carroll Card office at (216)397-4961. The office is located on the garden level of the Administration building.

Uses for your ID card:
- Serves as your JCU Grasselli Library Card
- Gives you access to the various JCU athletic facilities
- Money can be placed on the card for use in the Bookstore, cafeteria, In-Between, and at the various vending machines on campus.
[Parking Permits]
To park your vehicle on-campus during the spring and fall semesters, you must possess a parking permit. There are two different types of permits: a 'full-time' permit which allows one to park anytime ($125 per semester), and a 'restricted' permit that allows cars to park after 4:30pm during the week and all day on the weekends ($60 per semester).
Permits can be obtained during the first week of class in the Murphy Room located in the D.J, Lombardo Student Center. After this first week, permits can be purchased from the Campus Safety Services office located in the same building.
In order to purchase a permit you are required to show three forms of identification: a photo ID, vehicle registration, and proof of insurance. |

[Are You a Graduate Assistant?]
