Teacher Development Scholarship
The purpose of the Teacher Development Scholarship Program is to provide support to teachers to enhance their professional practice in schools and to those pursuing a teaching license for the first time. The Teacher Development Scholarship will reduce tuition for required courses specified in one’s program of study by thirty-three percent.
For Certified/Licensed Teachers
Tuition scholarships are available to all certified/licensed teachers and to those currently teaching in private or parochial schools. Scholarships are applicable for students pursuing the master’s degree in Educational Administration, School Counseling, and the various tracks in the Professional Teacher Program. The scholarship is also available for teachers who wish to take graduate courses in Biology, English, History, Humanities, Integrated Science, Mathematics, and Religious Studies. A copy of a current teaching license or an official letter from the student’s principal is required.
For Students Seeking Initial Licensure
Tuition scholarships are available to students who are seeking an initial teaching license and who have been accepted into either of our two master’s degree programs leading to initial teacher licensure: the Professional Teacher Initial Licensure Program and the School-Based Initial Licensure Program.
Please note:
- Students must apply for the scholarship and be approved by the Office of Graduate Studies. It is not applied automatically.
- The Teacher Development Scholarship Program does not apply to Community Counseling, special programs or workshops that are not full tuition.
- Ordinarily, candidates approved for this scholarship would not be eligible for other tuition grants other than financial aid.
- The scholarship may not be applied to previous coursework.
