History

Hours and Wages

20 hours per week in exchange for tuition and fees (excluding graduation fee)
up to 9 credit hours in the fall and spring semesters (a total of 18 credit hours) and a stipend paid twice per month (September-May)

Qualifications

Full-time, matriculated, degree-seeking graduate student in the History program. Excellent academic background and previous experience mentoring students preferred.

Responsibilities

The Graduate Assistant will work with a department member in a 100 or 200 level course that will be offered in two sections and will have a combined enrollment of a least forty students.  The GA will help the instructor counsel students by maintaining office hours, will help grade assignments, will attend class, and will assist the instructor in any other ways that might help in the presentation of the course.  Occasionally, the GA may be assigned to one or more full-time faculty members in a research capacity, but teaching assistance takes priority.
