Professional Development
In partnership with the school-district, professional development workshops can be developed and delivered to meet the district’s professional development needs and preferred delivery structure
- Collaborative Leadership workshops enhance the professional development of teachers and principals by encouraging rigorous professional dialogue that focuses on student outcomes. Topics may include: concepts of professional learning communities, shared leadership, teacher empowerment, improving leadership capacity, effective grade-level teaming for student achievement.
- Effective Teaching and Learning workshops address a variety of teaching approaches and strategies. Based on district needs, workshops will address standards while connecting content to the children’s own experiences. These practices help students meet and exceed academic standards and develop an enthusiasm for life-long learning. Topics may include: research-based literacy strategies, literacy across content areas, developmentally appropriate practice, culturally responsive teaching, assessment for learning.
- Positive School Culture workshops present the factors necessary to promote high expectations and mutual respect for students, families and teachers. Topics may include: culturally responsive teaching practices, creating a school climate that supports learning, developing family partnerships, promoting family literacy.
