Graduate Students

Inducted to

Alpha Sigma Nu

Each fall a select group of students are inducted into the Alpha Sigma Nu, the National Jesuit Honor society, by virtue of their academic qualifications and their manifestation of the foundational virtues of the society, namely scholarship, loyalty, and service. This year, three graduate students were inducted: Christopher Miller from History and Jodie Bowers from Religious Studies.

Assistant Dean’s Corner:

Getting Involved

During the past year, we have seen more and more graduate students become involved in the life of the University. Graduate students have always been leaders in the classrooms and labs where they learn and teach, but increasingly, they are seen participating in the community outside the classroom to the degree that their schedules permit. For example, graduate students have had a visible role in the Mass of the Holy Spirit, the President's Inauguration, Alumni Weekend, Homecoming, the Manresa retreat, and several university committees.  This is due, in large part, due to the activities and efforts of the Graduate Student Association and its leadership. Anyone interested in learning more about the GSA should email Carrie at cbagaria07@jcu.edu

Each year, the School Psychology Program, coordinated by Dr. Jeanne Jenkins, contributes a JCU-themed basket to the Ohio School Psychologists Association Fall Conference auction. Proceeds from this auction go toward the NASP (National Association of School Psychologists) Minority Scholarship Fund. This scholarship fund has been established in an effort to raise awareness of the need for minority school psychologists nationally.
