JCUJohn Carroll University (JCU) is a Catholic, Jesuit university dedicated to developing women and men with the knowledge and character to lead and to serve. Founded in 1886, JCU is one of 28 Jesuit universities in the United States and has been listed in U.S. News & World Report magazine's top-ten rankings of Midwest regional universities for 13 consecutive years. Degree programs are offered in more than 30 major fields of the arts, social sciences, natural sciences and business at the undergraduate level, and in selected areas at the master's level.

JCU Twenty-six buildings on sixty landscaped acres make up the Carroll campus. Wireless internet access is available to all students on campus, as are the campus Fitness Center and swimming pool. The new Dolan Center for Science & Technology houses the departments of biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics and computer science, and psychology, and supports initiatives to improve K-12 education and encourage technology start-ups in northeastern Ohio. JCU enrolls approximately 3,200 undergraduate students and 850 graduate students. JCU's faculty-to-student ratio is 1:14.

JCUSet in University Heights, Ohio, John Carroll's 60 acre suburban campus is situated only ten miles east of downtown Cleveland. Our campus is widely known for its beautiful architecture, tranquil surroundings, and ideal location.

The campus is walking distance from convenience stores, banks, pharmacies, major retail outlets, restaurants, and coffee houses, which make it an ideal place for students to live. There are plenty of other fun places to hang out, spend some hard-earned work-study money, and get a good meal just a short car ride away.

Coventry Village, located in nearby Cleveland Heights, has an eclectic mix of ethnic eateries and locally-owned specialty shops. Coventry is also home to some very popular college student hot spots. Right down the street from Coventry Village is Cleveland's own Little Italy. Little Italy is an energetic part of town that offers stimulating art galleries, sidewalk cafes, and, of course, the flavorful fare that celebrates the rich history and culture of Italy.

Only a 3-5 minute drive from campus is Cleveland's best-known shopping district, with Beachwood Mall and its hundreds of retail shops, including Dillard's, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Nordstrom, Legacy Village, Cleveland's premier lifestyle retail center, and La Place, home to Williams Sonoma, Borders Bookstore, and many other shops and restaurants.
