Residence Hall Phones
: The Information Services Department, along with Residence Life, are trying to determine the roll of land line telephone and voice mail service in the residence halls, and how it will all play out in the near future. With the proliferation of cell phones on campus, the use of land line services has been on a slow but steady decline. Federal safety regulations, as well as statistics and surveys will be examined to determine the best course of action.

VOIP Installation:
VOIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) will allow for the transmission of our voice traffic over our internet infrastructure, as opposed to our current TDM transmission through our PBX over the PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network). We are currently researching and comparing the options of a total VOIP solution vs. a slow migration through VOIP/PBX integration. We have been and will continue to demo various VOIP products and try to determine a roadmap for a successful transition.
