How do I map a drive?
Windows Users:
To map to H: drive (user folder) and O: drive (department folder):
Right-click on My Network Places. Choose "Map Network
Drive,"
OR
Right Click My Computer on Desktop
or from Start Menu
Select Map Network Drive from Popup
Menu
THEN
Browse to H or O Drive; Check box
for Reconnect at Login
Select drive H: then type in "Path" or "Folder"
\\kermit\home$\username
Select drive O: then type in "Path" or "Folder"
\\kermit\dept$
Check box that says "Reconnect at Logon."
MAC Users:
From the Finder, Choose GO> Connect
to Server
Type one of the following:
- smb://kermit/home$/your username (for the H:\ drive)
- smb://kermit/dept$/communications (for your department
share)
Enter your JCU Campus network username & password
in the Authentication pop-up window
The drive will be accessible from the Apple menu
under Recent Items
Am I responsible for backups?
Yes. Your profile is limited and you are responsible to backup your files to CDs or some type of external device.
How do I look for information on my system?
Point to the My Computer icon located on the Desktop or in the Start Menu, right click and select Properties from the pop-up menu.
