All John Carroll University Faculty, Staff, and Administrators who have a personal account on the Solaris Mail Server (mail.jcu.edu) also have an account on the Dialup Server. Your Username for the Dialup Server is the same as your Username (login name) for the Mail Server. Shared and non-personal mail accounts do not have a corresponding Dialup account. You must use your personal account to access the Dialup Server.
The password to use for the Dialup Server is your current Mail Server password. The Dialup Server utilizes the Mail Server to authenticate you. Please note: If you change your password on mail.jcu.edu, you must remember this when you dial into the Dialup Server.
This also means that you must have an active account on the Mail Server in order to dial in. If you do not have a Mail Server account, please call the helpline at extension 3005.
Be aware that sharing your password for the Dialup Server is strongly discouraged as it will compromise the security of your email account since the Dialup Server utilizes your Mail Server password.
