Setup Outlook 2007      

1] Start > Control Panel > Open Mail

2] Click [E-Mail Accounts]     
                        

3] Click [New]    
  
           
4] Select Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP, click [Next] 
                             

5] Click Manually configure server settings or additional server types, Click [Next]


6] Select Internet E-Mail, Click Next   
     

7] Enter User Information:

  • Your Name
  • E-Mail Address

8] Enter: Server Information:

  • Account Type: IMAP, Incoming & Outgoing mail server (SMPT): mirapoint.jcu.edu 
  • Enter: Logon Information: User Name, Password, Check Remember Password
  • Click [More Settings]


9] Select Outgoing Server Tab, Check My outgoing server (SMPT) requires authentication, Click [OK]


10] Click [Test Account Settings], Click [Close]
      NOTE: If your password is incorrect it will prompt you to enter your Webmail password


11]  Click [Next]


12] Click [Finish]

Creating the Mirapoint account in Outlook 2003

• Open Outlook
• Select "tools"
• Select "e-mail accounts"
• Select "add new e-mail account"
• Select "next"
• Select "IMAP"
• Select "next"
• Enter your full name
• Enter you e-mail address: username@jcu.edu
• Incoming mail server: mirapoint.jcu.edu
• Outgoing mail server: mirapoint.jcu.edu
• Enter your username
• Click on "More Settings"
• Click on "Outgoing Server"
• Select "my outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication
• Select "Use same settings as my incoming mail server
• Select "OK"
• Select "next"
• Select "finish"

Now when you select the Mail option in Outlook you will see the Inbox for your mirapoint.jcu.edu account.
