Setup Outlook Shared Calendaring
Users must have an Exchange Account first. If
one is needed, submit the Account
Request Form.
Make sure Outlook is closed or this will
not work.
- Go to START button, select CONTROL PANEL
- Select the Mail icon
- Select the Email Accounts button
- Select the Add a new email account option
- Select Microsoft Exchange Server option
- Type EXCHANGE as the server name
- Enter your username
- Click on Next
- Then click on Finish. There is going to be a message that pops up, just click on YES
- Then close out of Control Panel
- Reopen Outlook and that’s it.
To give someone rights to your calendar:
- Open Outlook
- From the GO menu, select FOLDER LIST
- In the Folders List navigation bar (on right
side of screen) right-click on the
Calendar icon
that is underneath Mailbox folder
- Select Properties
- Click on the Permissions tab
- Click on the Add… button and make sure the Show names from the: list in the top right of the ADD USERS window displays Global Address List
- Search for the name of the person(s) you want to give rights to and double-click on their name
- Click OK when you finish selecting names
- In the Permissions section of the CALENDAR PROPERTIES window, select the type of rights you want them to have to your calendar (generally READ only)
- Click OK
Using the shared calendar:
Put
your appointments/events on the Calendar under
the Mailbox folder.
