The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) also issued its highest rating to the airport as one of the safest in the country compared to airports of similar size across the nation. Cleveland Hopkins International Airport is served by 22 airlines and is located just 20 minutes from downtown via Interstate highway or rapid transit. Nearly 700 flights arrive and depart daily and nearly 4,800 flights weekly to 142 destinations. There are 207 daily direct flights to 52 cities. It is currently the 38th busiest airport in the country. Passenger volume in 2003 was 10.5 million.
