Adrian V. Kerrigan is the chief advancement officer at the University of Detroit Mercy (UDM), leading the areas of alumni relations and special events, advancement systems, development, government and community relations and marketing and public affairs. UDM has recently completed a $101.3 Million Campaign. UDM is the most comprehensive private university in Michigan with three campuses located in northwest and downtown Detroit. Sponsored by the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) and the Detroit Regional Community of the Sisters of Mercy; UDM was formed in 1990 through the consolidation of University Detroit and Mercy College of Detroit.
Prior to UDM, Adrian was Vice President for Advancement at Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY. There he led a team to complete a $30.5 Million Campaign. Prior to Le Moyne, he was assistant vice president for Development at St. Joseph's University in Pennsylvania from 1995-1998 and director of Alumni Relations at Saint Peter's College in New Jersey from 1992-1995. He began his career at Fordham Preparatory School in New York where he served as director of the Sesquicentennial Campaign & Development from 1987-1992 and director of Alumni Relations & Development from 1984-1987. Adrian will be starting his 23rd consecutive year of leadership in Jesuit educational advancement in a few weeks.
Adrian has been active in the Jesuit Advancement Administrators (JAA) Conference for many years and he is now serving as the immediate past Chair of the JAA Executive Committee supporting John Hurley in his important work as the current Chair.
Adrian is a graduate of Boston College (BA 1984), Saint Peter's College (MA 1996) and is currently working toward his doctorate in higher education at Syracuse University (the only non-Jesuit institution in his background, including nursery school). Adrian is married to Sandra Boucher and they have three sons; Jake Finbar (12), Nicholas Elzear (10) and Liam Boucher (8). They currently live in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. |
