Kelly
Leon is the director for public relations at Xavier University
in Cincinnati, Ohio. She joined Xavier in 1996 as director for media
relations after nine years in television news and three years as a
newspaper reporter. At Xavier, she has put together a crisis management team for the University and has developed a media training program that helps prepare University employees for interaction with the media. In addition to overseeing media contact and serving as spokeswoman for the University, Kelly interacts on a daily basis with the president's office, assisting the President with all of his communication needs. She also produces and oversees video productions for Xavier and has received several bronze Telly Awards for her work. Kelly earned her undergraduate degree in political science at the University of Cincinnati and her master's in journalism from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. |
