.About our most
recent cultural program . . . .
Saturday, May 9, 2009, the
Cleveland Hungarian Heritage Society hosted the third in a Series of Cultural
Programs funded in part by a grant from Cuyahoga Arts and Culture. We are
a part of the rich cultural heritage in Cuyahoga County, and had designed
a series of programs for all ages that enriched our audience with the folk
songs, dances and seasonal customs of Hungary, and of three other cultures
represented in our community. During our program entitled.
. .
"THE ART IN
FOLK DANCE"
. . we discovered the world of Hungarian & Slovenian folk dance, as the
Cleveland Hungarian Scout Folk Ensemble & the Folklorna Skupina Kres
Slovenian Dancers shared the grace and beauty of folk dancing. As per our
tradition, during the reception following, we exchanged ideas and had an
opportunity to meet our guests.
The invitation card can be viewed on our "Past
Events" link. The VIDEO LINK will be available soon!

and Leisure Activities"

and African village customs as folks lived the cycles of birth, childrearing,
love and old age and experienced leisure activites such as storytelling and
games, with the expert guideance of two fine ethnographers, Endre
Szentkirályi of the Hungarian Scout Assocation in Exteris, and Ismail
D. Douglas of the Rainey Institute
