Dear Professor of French,                                                                           Spring 2010

The Maison Française de Cleveland announces its Annual French Concours for College Students:
Date:          Friday, March 26, 2010
Place:         John Carroll University- Room 101 - O’Malley Center
Time:         2:00 PM
Parking: Free, stop at Guardhouse, request  Visitor’s Permit

The contest consists of two parts:          1) written                and        2) oral
1)           A 500-700 word ESSAY: A topic chosen from several suggested:  Time Limit:  90               Minutes
2)           A ten minute ORAL EXAMINATION: a completely impromptu conversation initiated by                one of the judges to determine the contestant’s ability to handle French in an                unanticipated situation.

Each winner of a prize and the professor who recommended the winner are expected to attend the awards banquet as invited guests of the Maison Française. It is suggested that participants anticipate the possibility of being winners and keep the date of the awards open.

          The presentation will be made at:
Date and Time:                    SUNDAY, April 18, 2010                       11: 30 a.m.
Place:                                    CLEVELAND SKATING CLUB
                                              2500 Kemper Rd. Shaker Hts., OH

Please encourage your best students to participate. Have them fill out the registration form (please make extra copies if needed), and verify the information before you sign the form. Indicate your phone number and/or e-mail address. Mail to:
