Lisa Rainsong, soprano
Lisa Rainsong's musical life integrates composition, theory, education and vocal performance. She is a member of the Music Theory faculty of The Cleveland Institute of Music and is the CIM DMA Coordinator. She holds a DMA in Composition from The Cleveland Institute of Music and is member of the Cleveland Composers Guild. She delights in the rewarding challenges of setting poetry for vocal soloists, for chorus and for mixed vocal/instrumental chamber ensembles.
As a soprano soloist Rainsong performs recitals featuring 17th-century solo song repertoire and is the soprano soloist in Ensemble Lautenkonzert. In addition, she also performs her own compositions for soprano. She is a choral musician active in several ensembles. These include the chorus of Apollo's Fire ( Cleveland 's Baroque orchestra), Cantores Ecclesiae, and the lute song ensemble Mignarda. She founded and has sung in the early music vocal ensemble Concorditas and is a chorister at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist.
