Grasselli Library is a member of OhioLINK, a consortium of Ohio libraries that share a central catalog containing ­44.8 million items available for patron-initiated circulation.  This shared resource makes it possible to avoid excessive duplicate purchases of current imprints by member libraries.  Studies indicate that if the central catalog contains 8 copies of a title, 5 will be available for loan at any given time.  For this reason, Grasselli Library will not place orders for any title of which there are already 8 or more circulating copies in the Central Catalog.  These orders will be returned to departments.  Selectors who determine that such duplication is necessary and appropriate can fill out the accompanying “Exception to OhioLINK Copy Limit” form, and return it to the liaison librarian assigned to their department.
