THE SECRET IS NOW OUT!!

The best-kept secret about careers is now out! When careers are compared on factors such as work environment, salary, stress and physical demands, the top three occupations are all based on math!!

And two out of the next three highest-ranked occupations normal probabilityare based on computer science!

So if you thought that majoring in math would mean that you would need to become a teacher--think again!

fractal plantA commonly-expressed concern of high school students as they consider their future college major is "I like math, and I've always been good at it--but I don't want to teach." Well, although teaching is an extremely honorable profession and math teachers are in high demand--if you major in mathematics or computer science, you can have many other rewarding career opportunities.

In January, 2009, the Wall Street Journal published ajava code list of 200 occupations, rating them from best to worst by taking into consideration a variety of factors. Click here to read that article--and be sure to notice the occupations that are ranked first, second, third, fifth and sixth. (Hint: They are all based on math or computer science!)

For a more in-depth look at those top careers, look at http://www.careercast.com/jobs/content/JobsRated_10BestJobs. On this page you can see how the ratings were determined, and get an idea about salaries.
