Course Content: This course will explore some of the concepts
connected with the modern mathematical notions of chaos and fractals. Featured
in the course will be examination and discussion of numerous hands-on activities
designed for use in the secondary mathematics classroom. These activities
will be examined with particular attention to their potential to allow students to experience the
interconnectedness of mathematical concepts, and for their potential to
stimulate students' enthusiasm for mathematics. Classes will include discussion
of activities done as homework, lectures to complement the activities,
and some computer lab work.
