Graphing the Absolute Value Function

The graph of the absolute value function is shown below.  You can manipulate the mathematics by changing the values of a, h and k, and then observing the changes in the graph. These changes can be made in the same way as in the page on graphs of quadratic equations.  As with that page, be sure to change just one constant at a time, so you can observe how that one change affects the graph.  And be sure to try both positive and negative values for each of the constants.

To learn about other things you can do to manipulate the graph, click here.

If the mathematics becomes totally messed up, just click the RELOAD button on your browser.

When you have finished your work with this page, go to the page on graphing the square root function.
