The Master of Science program is in traditional pure mathematics, with the option of some work in applied mathematics.  The Master of Arts programs are designed specifically for those teaching mathematics at the middle school or high school level, and include coursework designed both to strengthen teachers' knowledge of foundational material and to provide them with ideas and material for enriching the classes they teach.
