Students who minor in probability and statistics may not use MT 421 or 422 to also satisfy the requirements of the mathematics major or minor.

Three additional MT courses

One of the elective courses may be MT 200 Explorations in Mathematics or MT 229 Probability and Statistical Inference. The other two (or all three) electives must be numbered 300-379 and/or 400-479.  

At most one of MT 322, MT 421, MT 422 may be used to satisfy requirements for the minor in mathematics, and none of these may be used simultaneously to satisfy requirements for the minor in Statistics.

Interdisciplinary Concentration in Economics/Mathematics

 

B.S. Mathematics majors may earn this concentration by taking
     EC 301 Microeconomics
     EC 302 Macroeconomics
     EC 410 Econometrics
     One additional upper-division elective in Economics

Economics majors may earn this concentration by taking
     MT 233 Calculus and Analytic Geometry III
     MT 421 Mathematical Statistics or MT 422 Applied Statistics
     Two additional mathematics electives numbered above 300.
