High School Swarm Programming Schedule

As part of an outreach program to promising high school students with programming experience, we are inviting select

computer science high school students from the Northeast Ohio region to attend this workshop.  These students will get a taste

of a research workshop, an introduction to swarm intelligence and attend a tutorial on swarm software.

Friday's agenda for the high school students and their mentors will be the same as for all workshop attendees.  The swarm tutorial  will be

Saturday morning and afterwards, students and their mentors are invited to participate in the Human Swarm activities.  Lunch will provide

an opportunity for students to interact with other conference participants.

Students will be given a step-by-step tutorials on how to use freely available swarm software to generate

their own swarm experiments.    In this hands-on experience, students will design swarm agents, define their

behavior, and observe the interactions of 100s of their simulated creations.

11:00 - 12:30     Human Swarm Demonstration and Experiment, Muldoon Atrium

100+ participants can experience a swarm from the agent's perspective.  Learn how to attempt to

achieve high-level goals by only taking actions based on local information.
