For Reviewers of the NSF Proposals

Two proposals have been submitted to NSF that reference papers not yet in print.  These are included here for the convenience of reviewers.  some information (the 16S sequence in the thesis by Payne) has been omitted to protect the authors' data.  Boyer et al. (in review) has gone through the review process at Journal of Phycology.  It received favorable reviews and has been partially revised.  The partially revised version is posted at this website. 

These web pages have been modified from the original manuscripts in that figures are hyperlinked in the text to improve readability.

The paper on Spirirestis rafaelensis is in press in Nova Hedwigia and will appear in the February 2002 issue.
