FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
The Office of Multicultural Affairs offers a limited number of grants and scholarships to
undergraduate students of color (those registered with OMA) who
continue to make satisfactory progress in their academic studies
and have demonstrated need as determined by the JCU Office of
Financial Aid.
GRANTS
Multicultural Affairs Grant
Grants of $1000-$2000 will be awarded to students of color with a
minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0. Awards will be made based on
financial need and merit.
SCHOLARSHIPS
Black Professionals Association Charitable Foundation
This scholarship in the amount of $3000 will be awarded to one
student with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. The applicant
must be African American, have a demonstrated financial need and
submit a letter detailing his/her educational and career goals,
extracurricular activities and any internships or employment
positions held.
Bukala Minority Scholarship
This scholarship of $1000 will be awarded to a sophomore,
junior or senior with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. The
award will be granted based on financial need and merit.
Follett Bookstore Scholarship
Ten scholarships of $500 will be awarded to students based on
financial need and merit.
Hearst Foundation Scholarship
This scholarship of $1000 will be awarded to five
African American and/or Hispanic students (with junior or senior
status) with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7. Preference
will be given to students with the greatest financial need and
those that intend to permanently reside in the United States after
completion of their studies.
Jesuit Minority Scholarship
This scholarship in the amount of $800 will be awarded to two
transfer students of color with demonstrated financial need.
Sharika Pitts Scholarship
This scholarship of $500 will be awarded to one student with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7. Preference will be given to students with the greatest financial need
Sister Juanita Shealey Scholarship
This scholarship in the amount of $1000 is available to a
sophomore, junior or senior with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
This award will be granted based on financial need and merit.
