In the process John Carroll defeated
#1 ranked Liberty University, a team receiving national coverage
(Newsweek, The Colbert Report, CBS Evening News) no doubt
in part because of the fact it is coached by Brett O'Donnell, who
also coaches an individual named George W. Bush.
It was the conclusion of a phenomenal first year of debate for Sean and Chris, declared
Brent Brossmann PhD, who directs the Carroll team. The pair won 33 of their last
37 preliminary rounds (achieving a 11-2 record at the national championships),
won 15 of 20 elimination rounds for the season, and finished with a combined
record of 56-13. |
