NSSE and the Class of 2008
John Carroll’s three-year NSSE administration cycle provided our first cohort data in 2008. The figure below shows a longitudinal picture of the Class of 2008, both in their freshman year (2005) and as seniors (2008).

These data suggest that students’ perceptions about Active and Collaborative Learning, Student-Faculty Interaction, and Enriching Educational Environment items improved significantly between their freshmen and senior years. However, these data also suggest a slight decrease in this group’s perception of a Supportive Campus Environment in the same time period, which is common at many colleges and universities. |
