ORIENTATIONREGISTRATION FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Where is my transition packet?
A: Once a student has submitted his/her enrollment deposit, a transition packet is mailed to the student’s permanent address.  This packet contains specific instructions and information about how to register online for an orientation session.  Please allow a week after you have paid your deposit to receive your packet.  If you have not received the packet after that time please contact the Office of Admission at 216-397-4645.
   
Q: What is my e-mail address and password?  My e-mail password does not work. 
A: The transition packet containing the letter from the registrar includes your e-mail address and password.  Once a student submits his/her enrollment deposit, a packet is mailed out the next day to the student’s permanent address.  If you have received your transition packet, but have not received your letter from the Registrar's office, please contact the Registrar’s office at 216-397-4291.  *Note: If you change your banner ID password, that does not change your e-mail password.
   
Q: What are my Banner User ID and PIN and where do I find them?
A: Your Banner User ID and PIN will allow you to enter the Secure Area of BannerWeb where you will register for an orientation session and allow you to access your own financial and academic information once you are a student here.  You will find an envelope from the Registrar's Office marked Personal and Confidential in the Technology section of your transition packet.  The letter in the envelope includes your Banner User ID and PIN.  Please contact the Registrar's Office at 216-397-4291 if you do not find the envelope in your packet. 
   
Q: My Banner User ID does not work.
A: The banner user ID should appear like this: B00012345 (using zeros not O’s).  The banner pin is case sensitive and has six positions (letters and numbers).  Make sure that you can go to the “Enter Secure Area” page from the www.jcu.edu/bannerweb link in order to enter your Banner ID.  If you cannot do this please contact the Computer Help Desk at 216-397-3005. 
   
Q: How do I register for orientation?
A: The transition packet contains detailed instructions on how to register online for an orientation session.  If you have not received a packet please contact the Office of Admission at 216-397-4645.  You can also check the orientation website for registration instructions at www.jcu.edu/orientation.
   
Q: Can I just register for orientation over the phone?
A: Registration for orientation is simple and quick online.  Please follow the instructions in the transition packet on how to register for orientation.  You can also check the orientation website for registration instructions at www.jcu.edu/orientation.
   
Q: How do I get onto the website?
A: The transition packet contains instructions on how to get into the website to register for orientation.  You can also check the orientation website for registration instructions at www.jcu.edu/orientation.  If you are having difficulty logging on try going to a different computer (home, library, etc) as some employers block certain websites.  Also, make sure you get to the “Enter Secure Area” page from www.jcu.edu/bannerweb in order to enter your banner ID.  If you cannot do this, please contact the Computer Help Desk at 216-397-3005 and make sure you ask for a Helpdesk “staff” person.
