STUDENT ORIENTATION SCHEDULE 2008

DAY ONE

8:00AM - 9:30AM	Check-In Schott Atrium, Lombardo Student Center Move in to your residence hall room for the night, and after checking in please join us for breakfast!
8:00AM - 9:30AM	Continental Breakfast Reading Room, Dolan Center for Science & Technology Enjoy a light breakfast on us while beginning to meet your future peers!
8:45AM - 9:30AM	Open House at Residence Halls Murphy, Pacelli, and/or Sutowski Halls
10:00AM	Welcome to JCU! Donahue Auditorium, Dolan Center for Science & Technology Get an overview of what you can expect of university and student life at JCU while also learning more about our rich, Jesuit tradition.
10:30AM	Introduction to Academic Life Donahue Auditorium, Dolan Center for Science & Technology Get an overview of academic life and expectations, and learn a little about the College of Arts & Sciences, Boler School of Business, and academic advising.
11:00AM	Taste of Academics Donahue Auditorium, Dolan Center for Science & Technology Stay tuned as some of our dynamic faculty members give you a taste of what you can expect in class!
12:00 Noon	Lunch LSC Conference Room, Lombardo Student Center Dine with the admission staff and orientation leaders as well as other first year students and parents.
1:00PM	Foreign Language Proficiency Exam Various Locations
2:00PM	Writing Proficiency Exam Various Locations
3:00PM	Break Muldoon Atrium, Dolan Center for Science & Technology
3:15PM	"Oh the Places You'll Go" Donahue Auditorium, Dolan Center for Science & Technology Hear about some of the unique aspects of JCU from staff at the Centers for Career Services, Global Education, and Service & Social Action.
4:00PM	Orientation Small Group Discussion Orientation Leader Rooms Meet with your orientation leader for icebreakers and social activities. Your leader will also answer any questions you may have regarding the university.
5:15PM	General Academic Advising Individual Rooms in Boler School, O'Malley Center, & Administration Building Meet with a faculty advisor and learn about your core academic requirements and everything you'll need to know for fall class registration.
6:00PM	Dinner with Faculty Advisor LSC Conference Room Continue your conversation with your faculty advisor and family members over dinner.
7:00PM	Diversity Activity Intramural Gymnasium Open yourself up to the new horizons presented by college life and come ready to have fun and challenge your mind.
8:00PM	College 101 Marinello Little Theatre The performance by the orientation leaders will give you a good preview of some of the most common issues facing college students today.
9:00PM	Small Group Discussion Orientation Leader Rooms Discuss your questions and give your thoughts regarding College 101. Get ready for the night ahead!
10:00PM	Social Activities Lombardo Student Center & Intramural Gymnasium Join the orientation staff for food, music, dancing, and your choice of different sports activities!

DAY TWO

8:15AM	Breakfast LSC Conference Room, Lombardo Student Center
9:00AM	Mass Saint Francis Chapel Join other students and families at Mass and reflect on the next exciting four years of your life. People from all faith traditions are welcome and encouraged to participate.
10:15AM - 12:30PM	Cleveland & University Resource Fair Muldoon Atrium, Dolan Center for Science & Technology Meet with various representatives of the student body, faculty, staff, and administration to receive information regarding the resources and services available at JCU and in the surrounding area.
10:15AM - 3:00PM	Student Registration Dolan Center for Science & Technology Register for fall classes with your faculty advisor and get your JCU student ID.
10:30AM - 12:30PM	Technology Account Set-up Dolan Center E 223 Stop by and work with Information Services administrators to set up your JCU computer accounts.
10:30AM - 12:30PM	Individual Financial Aid Appointments Various Locations (check appointment card for exact time and location) Have a personal family appointment with a financial aid representative to address any final questions about your award package and/or university billing.
11:00AM - 1:00PM	Continental Lunch Muldoon Atrium, Dolan Center for Science & Technology Before you leave, make sure to stop by the various continental lunch stations for a bite to eat.
11:00AM - 2:00PM	Cleveland Cruise Vans leave every 15 minutes from Muldoon Atrium Take a ride around town to see the hot-spots, local shopping and dining, and where to access public transportation.
11:00AM - 3:00PM	Check-Out Muldoon Atrium, Dolan Center for Science & Technology You are welcome to check out once you have registered for your fall classes, received your Carroll Card ID, had your financial aid appointment, and perused the Resource Fair!
