Patrick Glynn contends that recent scientific discoveries provide strong evidence for the existence of God. He begins by talking about the "anthropic principle," which says that the basic physical constants of the universe are precisely in the narrow range of what is required for life to be possible. This principle strongly suggests that the basic physical constants were caused by an intelligent being who intended to produce life -- and so the world is a result of intelligent design. This exercise deals with Chapter 1 (on "A Not-So-Random Universe") of Glynn's God: The Evidence.
