We have 15 full-time faculty and 40 majors. Faculty doctorates are from Boston College, California at San Diego, Fordham, Michigan, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Ottawa, Princeton, SUNY Binghamton, Toronto, Tulane, and Wisconsin.

Recent publishing is impressive and includes fourteen recent books and many articles. Mariana Ortega was JCU teacher of the year (Culicchia Award) in 2005, as was Patrick Mooney in 1999 and Brenda Wirkus in 1997. Robert Sweeney was JCU's distinguished faculty of the year in 1998, as was Casey Bukala in 1981.

The U.S. News & World Report ranks John Carroll as #5 out of about 120 schools in its category.
