In fall 2007, Dianna Taylor became chair of the philosophy department.
In fall 2006, Joseph Buckley retired after teaching in the department for 45 years (since 1961). Jay Newhard joined us from the University of Oklahoma, where he had been teaching.
In fall 2005, Earl Spurgin became chair of the philosophy department.
In summer 2005, James Swindal left our JCU department to become chair of the philosophy department at Duquesne University; while we will miss him, we wish him all the best at Duquesne. Joseph Miller served as interim chair of philosophy for several months.
In fall 2004, Jen McWeeny joined the department.
In fall 2003, James Swindal became chair of the philosophy department chair and Brenda Wirkus became Shula chair.
